This is called a “stepwise” turn.
You can also do this with a scale that starts on a note that’s not in the key of C. In this case, you’d start at the D note and play all the way down to the E note.
What is an upper turn?
This is called the C Major Turn. To play this, you will need to know how to read the notes on the fretboard. If you don’t know what a note is, then you can use a scale to help you out.
For example, if you are playing the E Major Scale and you know that E is a major third above C, this means that you should play E as the first note of your E Minor Scale. You can also use scales to find out what notes are in a chord.
How do you do a musical turn?
The regular turns begin with the note above the base note, followed by the main note, then note below and finally landing on the main note again.
If you have a turn notated on an F-natural, the turn would be played in the following order: F, C, D, E, F#, G, A, and B. If you want to change the order of the turns, you can do so by changing the key of your instrument.

Do trills go up or down?
The opportunity to add brilliance and excitement to a score can be provided by trills. The obvious is that a trill is a rapid change between adjacent pitches, up either a half step or whole step from the notated pitch. The trills can be used in a number of ways. The most common is to play the first note of a chord, followed by the second note, and so on.
This is called a “trill-chord” or “triplet” chord. In this case, the notes of the chord are played in the order in which they appear on the fretboard, starting with the lowest note and working up to the highest note.
