Whatever files are in your current project folder are saved by Ableton Live Packs. If you are using loops and external samples, you need to gather them all together. Select all the files you want to collect and then click on file.
If you have a lot of loops and samples, it may take a while to get all of them in one place. If you don’t have enough space on your hard drive, then you can create a new folder and move all your files into it. This way you will have more space to work with.

Where do I put ADG files in Ableton?
You do not install ADG files like you do with packs. They’re preset for different racks. I just keep them all in a folder and drag them from the Ableton browser onto tracks. I want to add a drum kit to a track. I can do that by dragging it onto the track, and then clicking the “Add Drum Kit” button in the toolbar.
I’m going to drag it into the Instrument Rack, which is the rack that’s in front of the Drum Rack. I’ll click on the drop-down menu and select “Drum Kit”, and that will bring up a list of all the drum kits that are in that rack. It’s just a simple drag-and-drop operation. You can’t do anything else with it, so it’s really easy to use.

Rack is a specialised form of Instrument Rack, with functionality focused on drums and percussion. Racks are similar to the Effect and Instruments in that they are used to build devices from multiple plug-ins. Each of the parallel Chains has a sound source that can be used to create a new Rack.
Chain has a name, a type of sound, and a set of parameters that control the sound. For example, if a Chain is named “Kick Drum”, then the parameters of the Chain are the Kick Drum’s volume, pitch, attack, decay, sustain and release times, as well as the amount of time that the kick drum will be active before it fades out.
Chains can also be linked to each other, so that a single Rack can contain multiple Chains with the same name and parameters. In this way, it is possible to build a Rack that contains multiple different types of sounds, which can then be mixed together in a variety of different ways.
How do you save samples in Ableton 11?
If you want to save a clip from the open live set to disk, simply drag it to the places section of the browser and drop it into the current project or any user folder. Live will manage the copying of the audio clip’s sample into this new location based on the selection in the Collect Files dialog box.
